Your consultation
During the initial consult a detailed medical history and physical examination will be performed. Treatment options will be discussed with you. Dr He will help explain the risks and benefits of each option so that you’re empowered to make the next step.
On the day of your consultation, please bring:
- Referral letter from your doctor, if available
- Relevant X-rays, CT/MRI/PET scans, Angiogram, Echo
- Copies of hospital discharge summaries, operation records
- List of current medications
- Medicare/DVA/Pension/Private Health Fund cards
Patient Journey
Dr He and his team will guide you through each step of your treatment plan, and are happy to be contacted at any stage of your care.
After the initial consult, further investigations, including blood tests or imaging tests, may be required.
You will be contacted to confirm the date of your planned surgery.
Admission to hospital will be arranged the day prior to surgery.
Dr He works closely with a dedicated team of senior cardiothoracic anaesthetists and surgical assistants. You will undergo a thorough anaesthetic evaluation upon admission.
Following surgery you will be cared for in the ICU for 1-3 days before transferring to the cardiothoracic ward.
Our physiotherapists will work with you daily to optimise your recovery.
After discharge from hospital a follow-up consultation with Dr He will be arranged within 6 weeks.
